Virgil’s legacy.

In early October, Paris becomes a mecca for just about every sneaker and fashion fan, as the “Virgil Abloh: The Codes” exhibition opens its doors. In collaboration with the Virgil Abloh Archive, Nike is giving fans a glimpse into a world of unreleased designs, sketches, and samples from the late mastermind. Among all the exhibits, however, one sneaker stands out: the Virgil Abloh Archive x Nike Air Force 1 Low in a rich green.

What makes the green Air Force 1 so special?

Back in 2022, a sample in a similar colorway was already making the rounds online, though at that time it featured silver Off-White lettering. The version now spotted features different details: gold “V.A.A. for Nike” lettering on the inside and a hangtag with the year 2025. Currently, everything points to this being a Friends & Family release only, so it’s unlikely to make its way into stores.

In addition to the green Air Force 1, numerous other archive models are also in the spotlight: unreleased Air Force 1s, exciting Jordan prototypes, and many details that bear Virgil’s design signature. Adding to the excitement are rumors of an Air Force 1 “Sesame,” which is actually set to drop in select stores in 2025. Until then, the “The Codes” exhibition remains the place to be for anyone who wants to delve deeper into Virgil’s creative world.
