Running in New York: Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance

What used to be baggy jeans, Air Jordan 1s, and a Supreme cap is now a running vest, running shorts, and a pair of marathon-ready sneakers. That’s right: running clubs are now taking the place that was previously dominated by streetwear. And brands like Satisfy—which have even made their way to the headquarters in Herzogenaurach—prove that these worlds aren’t all that different after all.

And when we talk about streetwear staples, we can’t overlook the work of Teddy Santis and his label Aimé Leon Dore. As creative director at New Balance Over the past few years, the New Yorker has infused numerous models with a touch of New York while continuously evolving his own brand. As a result, the upcoming collection for New Balance will be a completely new venture for ALD.

This is the first Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance running collection: 

This collaboration impressively brings together New Balance’s running technology with ALD’s rugged yet luxurious style. True to its roots, orange and blue—the colors of the New York Knicks—dominate the collection, while small utility elements make the pieces particularly functional. The focus is on the two sneakers, the FuelCell Rebel v5 and FuelCell SC Elite v5, which are designed for race days and daily training, respectively.

In addition to the two sneaker models, it was especially the jacket, cap, shorts, and the utility vest that immediately caught our eye. It’s especially clear when you see the different pieces together that this collection was designed for optimal layering, but can also be combined modularly with other items.

When will the collection be released?
